Prevention & Screening

Prevention & Screening graphic

It’s a startling statistic, but one in three North Americans will develop some type of cancer in their lifetime. Who’s at risk? Is there anything you can do to prevent it?

While there are many risk factors, including your family history, diet, and lifestyle, the good news is there are steps you can take to lower your risk of cancer. In addition, screening can often detect cancer in its earliest stages, when it’s easier to treat.

While cancer should never be treated lightly, a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found a 20 percent rise in the number of cancer survivors, and about one in every 20 adults in the United States has survived cancer, including nearly one-fifth of all people over 65.

With healthy lifestyle choices, screening and modern treatments, cancer doesn’t have to defeat you.

You can defeat cancer. Moncrief is here to help.
