At Moncrief Cancer Institute, we offer supportive therapy sessions that allow patients, family members, caregivers, and survivors to talk through important issues in a safe and supportive setting. Topics include:

• Coping with cancer diagnosis
• Coping with caregiver stress and burnout
• Fear of recurrence
• Grief and loss
• Relaxation skills for pain management
• Relationship issues concerning spouse/partner, children, family

Dr. Deschner has 25 years of experience in helping men and women cope with the behavioral and emotional challenges that arise from facing challenging medical problems and treatment. 

Dr. Howe-Martin has extensive experience helping medical patients cope with the challenges of illness. She is particularly interested in treating women touched by cancer.

Each session costs $25 payable by patient at the time of the appointment. We can only accept cash and checks. Limited financial assistance is available for eligible individuals.
