When Angela Johnson finished her last radiation treatment for breast cancer at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, she should have rejoiced. Instead, like many cancer survivors, she felt lost. After a busy schedule of surgeries, chemotherapy appointments and physician visits, she posed the question often repeated by survivors, “What do I do now?”
The former buyer for IBM asked for help and the Center referred her to the Moncrief Community Survivorship Program.
As a participant in the free program, Angela took advantage of sessions with Moncrief Psychologist Laura Howe-Martin, who reassured her that her feelings were normal. She also started working out with Stephanie Mamantov, Moncrief’s cancer exercise specialist. Watch more of Angela’s story:
