A charitable bequest is one of the easiest and most flexible ways that you can remember Moncrief Cancer Institute in your estate plan. Such a gift allows you to control your assets through your life should you need to use them and make a lasting impact.
Your gift can be a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate and may be made through your will or trust or through a beneficiary designation of your retirement plan assets, such as an IRA.
Here is sample bequest language to share with your attorney:
“I/We give, devise and bequeath (amount or percentage of estate) to the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System for the use and benefit of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, located at 5323 Harry Hines Boulevard, Dallas, Texas 75390. This gift shall be used in support of the Moncrief Cancer Institute at UT Southwestern. These funds shall never become part of the Permanent University Fund, the Available University Fund or the General Fund of the State of Texas and shall never be subject to appropriation by the Legislature of the State of Texas.”
