Marking April as Minority Cancer Awareness Month, TV news in Austin featured Moncrief's mobile visiting the Texas Capitol. The mobile clinic has already made a positive difference for hundreds of North Texans.

Free cancer test kits available
Thousands of qualifying North Texans can now test for colon cancer using free at-home screening kits, says Dr. Mark Koch in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Moncrief is partnering with JPS Health Network and the American Cancer Institute to get the word out about this opportunity.

Moncrief selected for Fort Worth Beautiful Award
Fort Worth – January 15 – Moncrief Cancer Institute has been selected for a 2015 Fort Worth Beautiful Award. Citing its "outstanding contribution to the appearance of the community through quality landscaping" of the grounds and site, the Fort Worth Garden Club presented the award January 15, 2016, at the Dorothea Leonhardt Lecture Hall.

Survivor Story: Joann Ezell
For Joann Ezell, Moncrief Cancer Institute not only provided “a shoulder to cry on,” but cooking classes that were “so fun and so soothing.”
Joann knows that nutrition is extremely important during chemotherapy. But, as a busy working mom, she found it difficult to prepare tasty meals that would boost her immune system. Dietitians at Moncrief Cancer Institute showed her how to create nutritious meals to help in her fight against cancer.

Survivor Story: Desiree Lipscomb
When Desiree Lipscomb, a Hood County math teacher, discovered that her breast cancer had recurred, she decided to get healthy – and stay healthy. She enrolled in free exercise classes, and takes advantage of them when the Mobile Cancer Clinic visits Granbury.
Lisa Ross, the fitness expert for the clinic, developed a fitness program that fit Desiree’s level and limitations. “I’m more active than I’ve ever been,” Desiree said.
