Remembering Tex Moncrief

Submitted by tracy.greene on

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Tex Moncrief. He was an infinitely generous man who was committed to serving our community. We are forever grateful for his friendship, support, and service to Moncrief Cancer Institute and UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Through generous philanthropy that began in the 1960s, Tex and the Moncrief family helped facilitate the accessibility and expansion of cancer care services through the establishment of the Moncrief Radiation Center and Moncrief Cancer Institute in Fort Worth and the Moncrief Radiation Oncology Center in Dallas. In addition, the family helped provide for more than a dozen primary and specialty services at the Monty and Tex Moncrief Medical Center at Fort Worth and brain research through the UT Southwestern O’Donnell Brain Institute.

Tex leaves behind an incredible legacy; and because of his generosity, thousands will benefit from UT Southwestern's world-class care in Fort Worth. We send our heartfelt condolences to the Moncrief family. You may read more about Mr. Moncrief’s life here.
